HOW TO VOTE
If you are not registered to vote, you can submit a voter registration form to the Winneshiek County Auditor’s Office before October 21. You may also register on election day at your polling location.

The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on November 5. You can find your polling location on the Iowa Secretary of State's website or by contacting the Winneshiek County Auditor’s Office.
Registered voters can request a mailed absentee ballot through the county auditor's office. To receive a mailed ballot, complete a request form and return it to the auditor's office. The first day that a mailed absentee ballot could be requested is August 27. The county auditor's office will begin mailing ballots on October 16. The deadline to request a mailed ballot is October 21.
Ballots must be received by the county auditor’s office before the polls close at 8:00 p.m. on November 5 to be considered for counting.
In-person absentee voting begins October 16 at the Winneshiek County Auditor’s Office. This office is open weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and located on the second floor of the county courthouse at 201 W. Main St., in Decorah.
